The Heritage Association is a non-profit, public-benefit, and politically independent association founded in 1934.
The Heritage Association has run Sundbyberg City Museum for more than 50 years. In 1976, a property was sold to the City of Sundbyberg, which committed to supporting part of the museum’s operations in return. In the future, however, this may change, as the City of Sundbyberg does not currently appear interested in the museum’s operations as they stand today.
The association itself, and parts of our collections, will remain accessible to Sundbyberg residents going forward. We’ll share exactly how a little further down the line.
Otherwise, it’s a great deal of voluntary work by many dedicated people, now and over the years, along with membership fees, that keeps the association and the city museum running through 2026. Together we care for and preserve Sundbyberg’s special history, and also document and collect material about our own present for the future.
We operate under very tight circumstances. For decades we have striven, so far without success, to raise the city museum – with the City of Sundbyberg’s help – to the level it deserves given Sundbyberg’s unique and well-documented history. That requires more resources.
You can help by becoming a member, volunteering, or sharing some of your "free" time to support us!
